I'm seeing posts from people who attended last week's official SAGAFTRA Health Plan webinar. They’re posting things like “I was initially furious and terrified, but the webinar was incredibly informative and helped me a lot. Here’s what I learned...” It’s so heartening.
Tough times really show you what people are made of. Some folks want to scare you and exploit your fear/anger. Others want to help you through. Thank you to all the regular members, folks who’ve never even run for union office, for being, as Mr Rogers would say, helpers.
There are two more official webinars mon and wed at 1030am pacific. Go to http://sagaftra.org to register.
There are many angry responses to this thread, some from informed people and some from trolls. I hear the anger and I truly do empathize. This whole situation sucks. All I want is for people to get information that can help them.
I implore you to listen to sources that are legally required to be truthful as opposed to random people on social media.
What I fear is that those listening to the wrong people will not get the help they need. There are mechanisms in place to help people. If you jump on the "fuck the union" bandwagon and shut out real / important info, you will not get the help you need.
