Thread on forts of North Punjab.
This thread will be covering 26 forts, not including forts from Rawalpindi Division which has been covered in a separate thread.
I hope to introduce people to forts they haven't heard of.

Amwani Fort
Ruins of an ancient fort located in Haiderabad Thall in district Bhakkar.
Basirpur Fort
Well preserved fort with prominent bastions, located in the town of Basirpur in district Okara.
Ruins of Bama Balla Fort
Also located in Okara are the ruins of Bama Balla fort on a mound.
Bhera Fort
Located in district Sargodha on the banks of River Jhelum is the historic town of Bhera. The important trading post had been fortified with a faseel (wall) which was dotted by 8 gates. Little of this original wall survives today.
Depalpur Fort
Also located in Okara district.
It is not known who constructed it but it was used by both the Tughlaqs and the Mughals. It is said to have once had a 25 feet high wall and a trench.
Firuz Shah Tughlaq greatly improved it.
Ruins of Fort Fatehgarh
Located in Okara district. Despite the poor condition, its walls can still be seen. A few graves are also present on the location.
Gilmala Fort
Located in district Jhang. Square shaped and in remarkably good condition.
Gogera Fort
Originally supposed to be a Mughal era fort, it would be the base for Rai Ahmed Nawaz Kharral in his rebellion against the British in 1857.
Also located in Okara.
Qila Gujar Singh
Located outside the walled city of Lahore it was the stronghold of Gujar Singh Bhangi who was one of the major stakeholders of the Bhangi misl and controlled area south-west of Lahore. Many parts of the original wall and gates survive.
Gujrat Fort
The fort was constructed by Emperor Akbar in 1580 and settled by some Gujjar tribes.
Kalabagh Fort
Fort which was used by the Nawab of Kalabagh and was his seat of power.
Bera Mehal, Kunjrur
Castle like structure located in Narowal district.
Katha Masral Fort
Located in Khushab district.

Bavaani Fort
I couldn't find any information on it but since its listed in the Wikipedia list of forts of Pakistan (without reference by the way), thought I should include.
Located in Sahiwal district.
Lahore Fort
Although the original fort has probably existed for more than a 1000 years at least as the citadel to the major city of Lahore, the current structures were constructed by the Mughals in 1566. It was briefly used as the capital of the empire between 1586 and 1598.
It would later be used as the capital of the Sikh empire.
It is famous for its gardens and palaces like Sheesh Mehal.

Although much of the fortifications were dismantled by the British some old gates can still be seen.
Mankera Fort
Mostly in ruins, the original fort consisted of a wall surrounding the small town of Mankera along with residencies for nobles at the center.
Fort at Mitha Tiwana
Located in Khushab.
Qila Mian Singh
Located in Gujranwala district it was a stronghold of Mahin Singh. Only gardens and a baradari survives now.
Satghara Fort
Remember Mir Chakkar Rind from the forts of Balochistan thread?
At the end he had settled in Satghara in Okara district with his followers and was burried there. This is a fort from that era.
Sheikhupura Fort
Another Mughal fort built in 1607 under rein of Jahangir. The fort saw great number of changes during later Sikh rule.
Sialkot Fort
The first fort was constructed by Raja Salban in 2nd Century CE. Little of the fort survives now. The original fort is thought to have had concentric walls.
Qila Soba Singh
Soba Singh was brother to Mian Singh and this was his stronghold.
Located in Narowal.
Sodhra Fort
A fort was located here which was captured by the Sikhs and put under the control of Sardar Sulakhan Singh Puar.
Qila Deedar Singh
He was the third brother of Soba and Mian. This was his base of power.
