You guys are nothing short of amazing.
And I appreciate every single one of you.
In light of reaching 7k...
Here are 7 things I wish I knew when I first started this journey.

“Learn something new”
Since taking this account seriously I’ve learned more online skills than I’ve learned in the past 5 years of my life.
-Copywriting
-Email marketing
-Branding
-New investing strategies
-Market research
And many more...

-Copywriting
-Email marketing

-New investing strategies

And many more...
All these skills, even though I’m far from an expert, have made me a more well-rounded individual.
I started with the intent of only expanding my craft (dividend investing)
But along the way certain skills popped up that I just couldn’t ignore.

Taking the time to acquire a new skill is important.
It’s part of the journey.
Soak in as much as you can.
You'll reap the benefits along the way.

“Build a network”
When I first started I thought I could do this on my own.
What I didn’t realize was that there were so many others on this same journey with me.
People who:
- Had the same goals
- Had a similar mindset
- Wanted to learn new things

Reach out to these people.
Build a connection with them.
Get yourself in a group and make them your “Twitter Family”
You can bounce ideas off each other.
Learn from each other.
Laugh with each other.
It makes the process so much better.
I have mine.
You should get yours.

“Don’t talk shit”
There are people on here who disagree with my views.
I sometimes disagree with theirs.
But going out and trying to pick a verbal fight is the furthest thing from what you want to do.
This isn’t a place to make enemies.

I understand many perspectives, even if I don’t agree with them.
But don’t feel the need to challenge every person you disagree with.
It won’t get you very far.
You’re in your own lane.
Stick to it and don’t worry about what others are doing.

“Quality over quantity”
When I first started here on Twitter quantity was my goal.
I thought if I shower my audience with knowledge some of it might stick.
Was I ever wrong...
Some of it did (very little)
Most of it didn’t.

Was I ever wrong...
Some of it did (very little)
Most of it didn’t.
This goes back to the golden question people love to ask…
“How many times a day should you tweet”
My answer:
Tweet as many times as you feel is necessary to get your point across, but make sure you get your point across.

My answer:
Tweet as many times as you feel is necessary to get your point across, but make sure you get your point across.
That last part is vital...
If it means once a day, make that the best damn tweet you’ve ever created.
Just make sure you're teaching, inspiring or offering something of value.

“Engage engage engage”
Just kidding…
Don’t just “engage engage engage”
When you’re interacting with someone, make sure you have something valuable to say.
Your reputation on this platform depends on it.
Add something that accents the tweet.

If you can’t, don’t bother “engaging”...
Nothing is worse than someone who interacts just for the sake of interacting.
The account will see it, your audience will see it and it’s not a good look.
If you’re going to interact with others...
Interact with a purpose.

“Wake up with the intent to help, not to make money”
Sure, money is nice.
But what comes before the money is helping others solve problems.
If you’re not helping, you’re not earning.
Make sure your focus is to make someone else’s life better.

If you focus on the money.
You’ll burn out.
You’ll get unmotivated when it slows down.
My priority has always been to help others.
I give 150% when someone asks me a question in the DMs.
Why?
Because I care.
Show your audience you care too.

“Be yourself”
Don’t be someone you’re not.
I think that goes without saying but it’s so important.
Open up to your audience.
Tell them your story.
Where you’ve been.
Where you’re going.
Be transparent.
Be authentic.

You’re better off creating an image based on what you are than what you’re not.
Don’t let a virtual platform make you forget that everyone on here is a real person.
They’ll see right through you if you’re pretending to be something else.
And you won’t last very long...

To end if off…
I want to thank each and every one of you for all the support.
I started this journey back in March with no idea of where it would take me.

I’m thankful for everything I’ve learned, the people I’ve had the chance to interact with and those who have allowed me to have an impact on their lives.
With that being said…
This is only the beginning.
So keep your eyes peeled
Alpha out.
