My contribution to the integralism/fascist discourse:

There are things which secular liberalism would call "fascism" which, objectively, are not. That the state should legislate according to true morality or sponsor public worship seems "fascist" to those who worship liberty.
We can lean into these things, which are true and good, and not at all abuses of state power. Emphasizing that, no, really, we do believe that the state should obey the moral authority of the Church is one way to get the message through that liberalism is not the only way.
But there's a further step which goes too far. Some, due to the feeling of powerlessness and vengefulness, claim that truly integrating Church and state requires a violence abhorrent to both Church and state. It's the craven posturing of the weak.
As is always the case, if we are to build a just society, the methods of establishing it must be truly just themselves, according to the justice of God manifested in the cross of Jesus. We need to be obedient to that merciful justice if we want the State to obey the Church.
