The last five years have seen an aggressive campaign to get rid of sex-segregated spaces and services, through the introduction of gender neutral spaces, or opening up female spaces to any man who identifies as a woman.
@stonewalluk has been particularly aggressive, through a campaign of disinformation on the content of the EA, claiming it already prohibits sex exemptions, coupled with lobbying to get rid of sex exemptions in the EA.
You would think this campaign would be informed by data proving that sex segregation is useless and that women and girls are not under an increased risk in gender neutral spaces. What follows is the reality.
Conviction rates for rape are shamefully low in the UK. Does it seem rational to increase the risk of rape for women by eliminating all female only spaces and services? https://rapecrisis.org.uk/get-informed/about-sexual-violence/statistics-sexual-violence/
Women and girls in the UK are under assault in schools, universities, hospitals, changing rooms, toilets, prisons. Campaigning for eliminating spaces and services where our safety, dignity and privacy are preserved is *criminal*.
