Women are oppressed in Islam, and are given little to no rights.
-A women has complete right to her husband’s wealth, but her wealth is hers alone.
-A woman has complete right to sign legal documents, start a business, or work; however abiding by sharia laws. (1/3)
-A woman can choose whether to go by her family name, or her husband’s name.
-According to Islam, life itself is considered sacred. There is no such ruling that a woman cannot be at the status of a man, and the prophet SAW himself was against any oppression against women. (2/3)
-A woman has right to demand dowry at any point in marriage.
-A woman has right to partake in political and social issues and vote.
-The first person to embrace Islam was a woman(Khadija R.A)
-The greatest Islamic scholar was a woman(Aisha R.A)
“The Believers, men and women, are protectors one of another: they enjoin what is just and forbid what is evil: they observe regular prayers, practice regular charity and obey Allah and His Messenger. On them will Allah pour His mercy: for Allah is Exalted in power, Wise.” (9:71)
