A small thread on #LUFC midfielders based purely on my opinion and interpretation. No stats, no research, just a tweeted train of thought from a Leeds fan.

Pablo Hernandez. Seems to get better with age, but at 35, another year of magic could be an expectation too far. Will still be massively important for us this season but don’t expect him to play many full games without getting wheelbarrowed off.

Klich. Mr consistency. Bielsa’s trusted man and seshed large after promotion on pens and drives up field all game whilst always supporting his team mates. Produces heat maps Kanté could only dream of.

Adam Forshaw. Gritty midfielder who grew a fantastic ginger beard, got injured and hasn’t been seen for about three years. Could be trapped in a box with David Blaine. If he reappears this season, don’t waste your money. Still, it was a bloody great beard.

Kalvin Phillips. Turned down a lucrative move to Villa to stay with his beloved Leeds. A fantastic player with a future England career - if he chooses - but as a defensive mid you’ll find no value here.

Jack Harrison. Left-footed winger getting better and better under Bielsa. A sexy bastard who started to show glimpses of class last season. Also began to switch flanks with Costa during games and has a first touch which is as precise as his hairline.

Hélder Costa. Another winger who will benefit from having a season with Bielsa under his belt. Expect him to improve as Harrison did. Great at beating his man but delivers into the box like Hermes dropping off a parcel: it could end up anywhere!

Tyler Roberts. Has a different hairstyle for every position he plays, which can be attacking mid, on the wing or as a striker. Could be rotated with Pablo a lot again as he was at the end of last season whilst challenging Bamford to lead the line. Quick feet - can impact as sub.

Jamie Shackleton. The son every mother dreams of. At Leeds from the age of 8 - he’s about 13 now so progressing well. Too early to be looked at but could be a great asset in 2023/24 if priced right. Big things to come for this young man.
