it's too early for most of the USians who need to hear this but: the destruction of the post office is not just about this election and will not be stopped by voting harder or whatever
I was searching my inbox for a postal worker contact yesterday and found a "save USPS!" email from 2011 this is a long term project with bipartisan roots that like many things under Trump have now become at least sorta polarized which is great but also
polarizing the issues shouldn't mean we strip them of all context and history
(god if there's ever been an evergreen tweet)
anyway if anyone (who's actually awake) has links or videos or whatever from local actions around the postal service send 'em my way please
here is a great piece from @ddayen from 2013 about the long-running sabotage of the postal service and how to save it and also fix other problems by instituting postal banking https://psmag.com/business-economics/us-postal-service-saturday-delivery-postal-banking-52778
Gutting the postal service was bipartisan and fighting to save it is a big messy fight that is absolutely worth having about what the government and the public sector are for https://mobile.twitter.com/DavidpStein/status/1294999071245996032
