I barely scraped into psych nursing with my school grades. Ended up coming 2nd in the province in finals.
Later wrote to >400 schools of nursing listed in a book to do post-reg general nursing. All replied saying I didn't have the school grades & Irish nursing quals didn't count
I walked into St Mary's School of Nursing, Paddington @ImperialNHS while on a holiday in London. Met tutor, asked for advice and she said apply. Later, flew to UK from Ireland for 1 day, did interview and was offered a place. Started in Sept and have never looked back.
For those who've had a terrible week, where you've unjustly had dreams stolen by those who judge school grades not the person, don't give up. Please don't give up.
It was crushing being rejected again and again when all I wanted was a chance. So glad I stuck it out
