This morning I woke up & started writing a screenplay in bed.
I've had a mental block on transitioning from non-fiction to fiction, but have always dreamt of it.
As writers, it can be easy to attach yourself to one identity - but I'm learning sometimes you need to surrender.

As writers, it can be easy to attach yourself to one identity - but I'm learning sometimes you need to surrender.
Surrender to not being very good at something at the start.
Surrender to letting yourself fail.
Surrender to doing something new.
Surrender to not being fixed to one identity, one job, one anything.

I've just finished writing a non-fiction all about the ways women hold themselves back in business. Low self-confidence, imposter syndrome, self-doubt.
I didn't realise some of that was still playing out for me, albeit in another arena.

I think we all need to give ourselves permission to fail. To create, without self-judgement.
You don't need to believe in yourself 100% at the start of anything, you just need to give yourself permission to try.
