releasing corresponding funds.Many of dashtarkhaanz for poors, shajarkaari muhims, jashn e azadi/milad charaghaanz etc etc r fundless assignments where we have to deploy our charm & motivational skills & woo these mukhayar hazrat into parting with their money.
If u have overly rigid spine, initially u would find the exercise quite distasteful. It does seem a bit. Ok. a LOT like begging & brings the stature of office down a bit.

anjuman e tajran, NGOs, expats, holy men & occasional issueless rich agriculturalists. After all top brass just cares abt urgent compliance. Apki lutt'ti hoi izzat ki parwa kisi ko nai...(izzat e NAFS that is)

their parties (all sorts), play cricket with them & do gossip in retiring rooms. The lady officers are at a disadvantage. We can't do most of this stuff for obvious reasons. So the only jugaad yours truly thought of was to lead by setting noble example

i would go to atm, withdraw 20k or so, be the first one to stand up & donate.

kamana chahti hun bt actually i was just looking to avoid barbs from my husband abt being a nawabzaadi & stuff lol. He is a good guy bt he believes jitni public service hum pura din daftar main krte hain wo kafi hai..na shukri awam pe paisa lutana is hamaqat of highest order

Still i wasn't having the desired effect. The donations were not as huge as i had hoped.
Then i figured out the prob.Before such fund raising we used to inform the participants about the agenda of the meeting & that led to those abysmally low turnouts, no shows & less collectio

From trauma & burn center at DHQ Gujrat to Kidney institute & Bab e Gujrat. Most of it was donor funded!! It was actually awe-inspiring.

Lessons from the pro senior:
Catch them unawares..Spring a surprise on them in bhari mehfil. DON'T squeeze them dry in one go. Save some juice for future fatigues. Look the other way in case of their minor transgressions. Give them front seats at functions (won't cost u extra)

Praise them publicly as often as possible to keep them in good humour & mukhayar hazraat won't know what hit them
