The State economy is already being impacted by #covid and now we have a shortage of energy resources that is causing blackouts. Solar only works in the day time, wind resources don’t always happen so we are dependent on natural power plants
the CA Energy Commission wants to ban natural gas. How is this going to to work? It’s 7:30 and it’s 106 right now. These hot days create more customer demand in the form of air conditioning use at dusk and at night solar can’t help meet the air conditioning demand,
so why is the Public Utilities Commission and CA Energy Commission trying to ban natural gas which fuels power plants that help with nighttime power needs?
If we were fully electrified right now and no natural gas was available, per what the CEC is asking for, what would we be forced to do on days like yesterday and today? Turn everyone off and say, “please be patient”? 🙄
It’s hard to operate a restaurant at half capacity (take out only) as it is and now we have power outages impacting large numbers of customers. What is the solution to this situation? Is it really a ban on natural gas and all natural gas power plants? #nightfallhappenseveryday
