Im not going to lie AJones staying in GB long term is looking more bleak as their cap situation continues to settle.

1)They just resigned Kenny Clark to a 4yr extension. This isnt unexpected but the amount was massive making him the 12th highest def player in the NFL

2) Other key pieces need big $ w/Bakhtiari (LT), King (CB), & Linsey (C) all need extensions by 21' as well. The 2 OL will likely be needing big deals especially Bakh being one of the best in the lg
That's not even considering Jaire (CB), Adams(WR) who need it in 22' as well

Each of these players play a position needing more $ long term and just as vital of a role to the teams success if not more.
3) AJ Dillon has high draft capital investment being a 2nd rd pick. Yet he also is a Ground & Pound RB on a fresh rookie contract allowing him to be cheap

Lafleur's system seems to like the use of multiple Rbs of different strengths so I do believe AJD & Jones can co-exist well but Jones price tag may cause LaFleur to look for another elusive rb via draft in 21 as opposed to cashing out.

If he is a top 5 rb as he was last year than he may seek long term big money which I dont think GBs front office is willing to do at this point thus he would look to get paid elsewhere

5) Duration will likely be the biggest sticking point in conversations. GB will likely want a friendlier deal of course which could potentially happen but I think Jones will likely want a long term deal & GB with current draft moves seems like they may be re-tooling in 2 or 3 yrs
With a potential QB shift so I cant imagine the would offer an extension longer than 3 yrs
If Jones is similar to Henry, CMC, Zeke, etc. Then he is likely desiring a longer deal due to the punishment rbs bodies take

Which he has no reason to do if other are willing to pay for his skillset.

Possibly keeping the market low but it could hurt with many openings on teams too.

All of that being said the Packers contract guy is a wizard & has made many things work that didnt seem possible so if anyone can its him.
Plus Jones said he wants to be a Packer 4 life but it is very difficult to imagine an extension for AJones in GB
