Eastern #ausag states requiring grain harvest labour need to have a look at what they are expecting, offers of 4-6 weeks work are not going to attract staff from states which will req 2 weeks of unpaid quarantine on their return home. 3 lads 20-21 I know of with exp locally.
Two weeks of quarantine with the inability to work would cost those lads at least $2500 in lost wages plus travel home.
If you require harvest operators you may have to offer a longer term position or the financial incentive to cover cost incurred by the machinery operators you require.
If rules change on quarantine conditions to mandatory hotel quarantine, cost returning worker could be hotel cost, $3000 plus $2500 lost wages, so for a 4-6 week harvest job potential cost for a young person could be $5500 almost $1k for each week of work.
