Alright. Enough vague tweeting. Gather 'round, chickadoos. It's time to chat. Just because someone decides they're an agent does not mean they're an agent. Navigation publishing law requires internship, and YEARS of mentoring. #WritingCommunity #amwriting (1.
It's HARD out there. But let me break a few things down. You know how people steal manuscripts and publish them as their own? They need manuscripts to do that, and there you are, excited and bright-eyed sending a stranger a manuscript. If Google can't find them, and their (2
About page has nothing to do with agenting or doesn't list the agencies they've interned at, swim away as quickly as you can. There are two other shitty things that can happen. The schmagent could send your mss to small presses, THAT YOU COULD HAVE SUBBED TO YOURSELF (3

One final note. This isn't shitting on ppl's ambitions to become an agent, but you have to put in the work to get to the top. Everyone starts at the bottom and works upward for a reason. Because even a degree isn't the cost of entry to agenting. #writingcommunity #amwriting
