i like goku
he's also a good grandpa
people always focus on gohan and piccolo but i've always been fond of goku and piccolo
goku and piccolo's dynamic has always been more interesting to me than goku and vegeta's, almost feels brotherly by the time of super
also the driving school episodes, while not canon, are just so fun

i mean really, i love goku's relationship with all his friends, it's one of my favorite parts of the original series
also love happy goku so much (even if it does get a bit annoying in a certain recent series)
but also serious/focused goku is such a good contrast for those situations that call for it
also i know i said i prefer goku & piccolo, but i do love me some well written goku & vegeta content
one of the few things I really liked in GT is their relationship, it flows from the end of z a bit better than say, super (though it's been some years so I may be misremembering)

they're both good parents
also gohan & goten as brothers needs more time in the spotlight
a lot of my favorite interactions with them happens in noncanon material and that sucks
and then in both sequel series we hardly ever see them together

i guess moving further away from goku himself, but i really wish we got more time with goten in the sequel series, same with trunks
