HOW TO SELL YOUR FIRST WEBSITE TO A NICHE STARVING FOR TECH SAVVY GO-GETTERS 👷

(How to make your first money online)

Thread
So, you want to make money online?

That phrase in itself has now become slightly cringe due to how often you see it. But, this is a simple way you can get started.

(P.S.) No you aren't going to be selling an e-book
Let's start with a story:

In 2018 I started following advice of people on Twitter quite regularly and attempting to make money online.

- Shopify stores
- Creating courses
- Making a podcast (how tf i thought that would make money idk)
- Many, many more
Once I had finally stumbled upon my first taste of true success (web design) I could finally apply the principles I was reading on Twitter.

Fast forward to now and I have made so many websites I can't even keep track.

But my goal today is to show you how to make your first.
Before we start a few things

#1: There are many ways to make money, this is one you can use not the ONLY
#2: This may not be YOUR thing but the principles will help
#3: You don't have to pick the niche I suggest - think outside the box
Okay, let's get into the good stuff

Step 1 - THE NICHE

You need to find someone who has a problem you can fix.

Problem: Lack of or Poor Website & No Tech Skills
Fix: Hiring a Young Hungry Go-Getter To Build/Fix It
Let's think....

High margins per sale
Low tech industry
Low competition online
Basic website needs (no ecom/membership)

🤔

How about: CONSTRUCTION
The construction industry is perfect for your first website build. Most builders don't want fancy websites they just want something that works.

They need a nice homepage that loads fast and has direct selling components that lead to the customer becoming a new lead.
BUILDING THE SITE:

1 - Go to http://carrd.co
2 - Create a Pro account (~$50 depending on location)
3 - Start building the site frame work
HEADER
- Strong hook on the hero banner (Enticing Image and Good Copy)
- Logo in top left corner
- Links across the top of the page
- 3 Boxes for the main services
- Buttons (Get a quote/Call us)
ABOUT US
- Gallery at the top under the title
- Image on the left with 3 bullet points about the services this company offers
- Strong call to action under the bullets
CONTACT US/GET A QUOTE

- Important to add the opening hours, phone number and a form to fill out
- The map at the bottom also helps with people who may want to visit the store
- It is important to set up the form correctly
SETTING UP FORMS

1. Get a zapier account
2. Create zap for form to go to a Google Sheet
3. Create another zap that will text or email your client when a new lead comes in using the Zapier text or email function
4. Keep record of how many leads you generate for leverage
STRUCTURING YOUR DEAL

- I always ask to be paid 50% upfront, and then the remaining on delivery
- I make Loom videos for how the client can set-up domains and clone the site to their Carrd account (sometimes the have me do all this for them but if not Loom is good option)
FINDING YOUR CUSTOMERS

- Facebook Groups
- Google Search Near You
- D7Leadfinder

Using the above find all the local construction companies and send them an email with a link to a Carrd site example. Organise a meeting with them either via phone or in person. Close the sale.
If you are interested in getting a cloned copy of a pre-made construction site RT this thread and I will send a push request once it gets above 25 RT's.
