brennan: i dont like the concept of "redemption" because it implies that we have to earn kindness or balance some cosmic scale

aelwyn hurt a lot of people and she was deeply hurt as well and those two things dont have to balance perfectly in order to mean that she "deserves" to be happy

its cool if you dont like her, people are allowed to not like characters (but i think youre wrong), but adaine says (im paraphrasing) "i am going to love you without qualification, because i want to. you have done nothing to earn my love but love doesnt have to be earned"

the whole THING there is healing. aelwyn doesnt "deserve redemption" bc of the orbs in fallinel, she gets a chance to heal because her sister decides to love her unconditionally and teach her that they can both grow from the neglect and pain that their parents carved into them

just. ugh this isnt coherent and im not saying what i want but basically. its okay to not like aelwyn, but she doesnt have to earn redemption by being good. she's a teenage abuse survivor and shes trying to grow and heal and she can and will fuck up and thats okay
