The TL is full of "Pep overcomplicates another big game" tonight

I'm not particularly sold on that cliche. To suggest he only tweaks his XI/shape/approach for the big games does a disservice to him; he tweaks and changes for EVERY game, so why wouldn't he for the big ones?
Tonight he started in a 3-5-2, created a 3v2 man advantage vs. direct, quick strikers (rightly so), and instructed passes into the runs of Sterling off the outside CB's shoulder to the byline. 3-4 chances of this type created, all missed, individual error for goal conceded.
Mahrez comes on, shape goes to 4-2-3-1. But the exact same type of chance is created again (Sterling, byline, cutback) and they score. Exact same, so shape irrelevant.

Sterling misses an open goal, then Lyon score a goal that could easily be ruled out by VAR. A savage minute.
tl;dr

I think your "Pep strikes again on the big stage" take is overly simplistic and mostly wrong https://twitter.com/InfogolApp/status/1294739592353124352?s=20
