As an antirape advocate, Black woman, rape survivor and feminist theorist I think it's great! It's not objectification if they have autonomy. They are not objects. They are women expressing sexual desire on their own terms. https://twitter.com/carolyncmartin/status/1294720467442556928
I was JUST coming back to say this!

it's okay to just not like or understand something. i literally have no idea why being a screenwriter or psychotherapist was relevant for her to bring up lol https://twitter.com/CommisarConan/status/1294727643678605312?s=20
there are a lot of positive things coming from it, but the misogyny coming from folks like you is not a part of it.

this hasn't been discourse as much as people going out of their way to reinforce hegemonic femininity by putting down Black women's art https://twitter.com/CarolynCMartin/status/1294724996821143553?s=20
you say you're a feminist. are you familiar with (1) the long history of racism against Black women in the feminist movement & (2) how that racism often manifests in policing of BW according hegemonic gender norms used to justify our rape and abuse? @carolyncmartin
Yup. And those features were objectified by white supremacists to justify our rape and exploitation.

Having BLACK WOMEN use art emphasizing breasts and butts to CELEBRATE our bodies instead of DESTROYING them offends the status quo. https://twitter.com/royalhoeliness/status/1294768651749343232?s=21
White supremacy needs Black women to have low self esteem. We are supposed to be reviled and rejected, not celebrated and desired.

The WAP reactions show a lot of folks, especially WW and men, can't handle the latter.
