At today's Hoover, AL protest. As usual, we're protesting on public property in front of city hall. While we have smaller protests compared to big cities (usually 50-60 protesters) we've learned how to be really effective with small numbers. #HooverMurderedEJ #ReleaseTheVideo

For instance, despite the fact that there were only 6 people out here for the first hour, Hoover PD has posted at least 20 SUVs with multiple cops in each car. That's a lot of money. Each car is on and running AC (it's 96°F). That's more money.

We planned for this protest to run from 12pm-12am. Hoover responded by banning us after sunset.

Another way to be effective with smaller numbers of protesters? Divide and conquer. While we kept all the cops occupied at city hall, another group of protesters were at the Galleria mall where #EJBradford was murdered by Hoover PD.

The cops normally watch the mall very closely. We have had multiple people BANNED from the premises for a year because they were just talking about #EJBradford. TALKING. So you can better believe the mall doesn't want the publicity of a die in.

A die in is exactly what they got. And everyone in the mall got to see how Hoover deals with nonviolent protesters. At least one person was pepper sprayed and multiple people were manhandled beyond what was necessary. Hoover desperately wants to avoid notice.

Approx 10 people were arrested. Several were pepper sprayed and one was reportedly tased. For a die in. Hoover has also banned anyone other than the bondsman and the funder from the jail waiting room. They're trying to break our spirit and it's not going to work. #HooverWrong

6.5 hours later and we're still at city hall. It's been a blisteringly hot day but our numbers have been growing steadily and we're staying strong until Hoover PD kicks us out at sunset.

Our lead organizer is being charged with assault 3 and criminal trespassing with a $4000 cash bond. If you can donate anything at all, we'd really appreciate it.

Sunset tonight is at 7:33pm. We still have 20 more minutes to disperse (we're currently packing up) and they're already out of their vehicles with zip ties ready. Hoover PD loves arresting protesters.

All protesters are out of jail. We had to wait for them at a gas station down the street because the cops banned us from the jail waiting room and the parking lot. They also threatened the released protesters with loitering for waiting in the parking lot for rides
