Just discovered that our local libraries: Pollokshields, Langside and Govanhill are among those not included in the @glasgowlife reopening plans. All of these are used by our community.

EVERYBODY DESERVES ACCESS TO BOOKS. LIBRARIES ARE SO IMPORTANT.

Not sure what the decision making process was, but
southside book lovers
if you have any energy, capacity, spoons over the weekend, please email our @GlasgowCC representatives to find out more and ensure that these libraries are not under threat of long-term closure.

If anyone who normally uses the library for books and is not able to buy, you can use BOOKCODE SOLIDARITY when you email in an order to us and the book is pre-paid by the pay it forward fund. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1D6VkKuqU-14YK3lcOgo5JczC-WYJW3ERYT23zmLzA48/edit?usp=drive_web&ouid=112209079359954368624
Saying this, whilst pay it forward funds work, they are not, and should not be a replacement for the library. We will always demand free public access to books, knowledge, stories, internet!

happy saturday. (yes, we really love books).
