If Biden wins, my concern is that we won't have a robust, muscular foreign policy. We need to project American values and promote democracy abroad. The world looks to us for strength and leadership. Previous presidents understood this.
We are in the midst of a generational project of transforming large parts of the world that have never experienced democracy. That must be continued. And we must stop the rising aggression of Iran and China, which obviously pose threats to our way of life.
The point is that the Cold War strategic consensus still holds. We need to be able to fight two-front wars against determined adversaries who hate what we stand for. Does Joe Biden understand this? Does Kamala Harris? Please tune into my FDD webinar to find out.
Look, Obama, for all his faults, was onboard. Bombed six countries, let the CIA do its work, spent $1 trillion on modernizing our nuclear weapons. No, he didn't go far enough on Syria or Libya, but maybe we should blame Biden for that.
When the Israelis have to bomb Beirut again, will Biden give them the bunker-busters they need to take down fortified hospitals? Will Biden compliment MBS next time he fillets a dissident? We just don't know, which is what troubles me.
