[1/8] Semedo dropped the worst performance in the UCL history yesterday but he always gets away from the criticism. He is one of the most protected and overrated players by the fans. In this thread I am going to show his highlights of the game but at first see what Julien thinks:
[2/8] Here he had the opportunity to pass the ball to Busquets, Suarez, de Jong and Vidal. But he took too much time to make a decision and allowed 3 Bayern players to close him down. Then he made a pass to Sergi Roberto who was already surrounded. This led to Bayern's 2nd goal.
[3/8] In this situation, he is nowhere to be seen near the defense because he lost the ball trying to dribble and didn't bother to track back.
[4/8] He tried to shield the ball from Lewandowski so that the ball could go out of the play for a goal kick. Lewandowski picked his pocket and made a pass inside the box which almost resulted in a goal but didn't happen thanks to Alba's sliding block.
[5/8] He was beaten by Davies in the wing and then he followed Davies inside the box but he was humiliated by Davies again. Davies assisted Kimmich a few seconds later.
[6/8] He doesn't close in Coutinho. Coutinho makes a cross and Semedo fails to block the cross. The cross resulted in Lewandowski's only goal.
[7/8] I couldn't find the perfect frame for this one. It was shown on TV but I couldn't find it in highlight videos on YouTube. Pique, Lenglet and Alba tried to apply the offside trap but Semedo was unaware of it. He was behind the defensive line by 3-4 meters.
[8/8] Semedo kept the Bayern player (who assisted Coutinho to make it 8-2) on side. You can get some clue from the image. Semedo is ahead of everyone else because he didn't have to move. You can see others are trying to get back to cover him.

End of thread.
Here's the moment I was talking about. https://twitter.com/mojr11_/status/1294683040296382471?s=20

Bayern targeted Barcelona's right side because they knew Semedo would make errors. 6/8 of their goals came from that side.
