🔥 Conquer your day with a morning routine 🔥 [THREAD]

What's the first thing you do in the morning?

Jump out of bed & rush out the door...

or lay in bed until you can force yourself to get up?
If you answered yes to either of these options, you should consider developing a morning routine.

Not only does it boost your productivity, but it also:

- gives you a sense of purpose
- helps build momentum for the rest of your day
- makes you feel AWESOME

Let's begin.
▶️ WAKE UP EARLY AND AT THE SAME TIME EACH DAY

Humans are creatures of habit.

No matter how much you like sleeping in on weekends, it's recommended you wake up at the same time every day.

This get's your body into a routine.

And trust me, it makes this next part easier:
Wake up early.

You don't have to wake up at 4AM, but I do recommend getting up between 6-7:30 AM.

Why?

This gives you plenty of YOU time.

When you wake up early, you actually have time to relax & start your day the right way.

It makes it easier to have a routine.
▶️ THE ROUTINE

Every routine should start with the same thing:

Making your bed.

It reinforces that the little things are important.

William H. McCraven says, "if you can’t do the little things right, you’ll never be able to do the big things right."

This is 100% true.
After making your bed, the routine can differ from person to person.

Mine goes as follows:

- Make bed
- Go for a walk while listening to a podcast
- Shower
- Eat breakfast
- Bible Study
- Review & add tasks to my to-do list
- Schedule tweets
While everyone's routine will be different, here are some tips to building your own:

1. Look at your goals

- Specifically look at ones you can make progress on with small amounts of daily effort.
2. Figure out how much time is needed for your routine

- This will definitely take some trial and error
-Once you've figured out how much time is needed, adjust your wake-up time accordingly
3. Commit time to your routine.

- It won't be easy at first, but it will get easier
- Commit to your routine for at least 2 weeks

4. Make adjustments

- If you absolutely hate something about your routine, change it!
- Nothing about your routine is set in stone
▶️ FINAL THOUGHTS & TIPS

If you'd like to keep track of your morning routine, and not put it on your to-do list every day, I recommend using an app called @Habitica!

It's basically a gamified habit tracker, and it works really well.

I'll do an in-depth thread about this soon.
Trust me, having a solid morning routine will change your life.

I used to lay in bed until noon every day.

I felt like crap.

But now that I have a morning routine, I feel so much more productive!
