On my last few days of my #IM rotation. Being new on the wards, it's easy to follow directions & do what is expected. One of my takeaways from this rotation is to always ask "Why?!" It's a fundamental question in medicine- but new students are often already overwhelmed. #MedEd
It's hard to question things when you are just starting to understand how clinicals work but it is necessary if we want to elevate healthcare for our patients. One of my attendings instilled this in me early on by introducing me to Things We Do For No Reason @TWDFNR #MedEd
Great thread- thoughtful discussions of hospital practices that have become common parts of care but have limited or no supporting evidence. So, fellow #medstudents, I guess what I'm saying is don't become complacent & always ask WHY #MedTwitter Thanks #InternalMedicine
