The Independence of India, a day that came at a great cost - partition of the country. There was happiness in one end that we were free from of British Rule but for others there was grief - The Nation was Free but their beloved homeland was gone - East Bengal, West Punjab & Sindh
The Partition of India has caused possibly the largest scale of human migration in Human history. People moved away from their homelands leaving behind their homes, their land, their possessions but only retaining memories of their beloved homeland
We hear the tales of the wonderful celebrations we had back in our earlier homes. Never could we have thought that one find day it'd be snatched away from us. Never could we think our heritage would just be a fading memory...
The independence we sought came as a result of the countless number of freedom fighters, revolutionaries, leaders who fought tooth and nail to ensure that we today can cherish the experience of living in a free India
But the refugee crisis saw an unparalleled stream of our people walking towards India, in the hopes of rebuilding their lives, in the hopes of finally being able to practice their faith without persecution and start new lives once again https://twitter.com/storiesofBHs/status/1283069571679744001?s=20
We feel extremely lucky that a part of our ancestral land was able to remain united in a Free India

We stand in solidarity with those who weren't so lucky had to leave their ancestral homelands...
Therefore, this Independence day

We remember the struggles everyone had to face to be where we are today, to finally see an Independent India

We hope everyone strives together to take the land of Bharatvarsha to greater heights!

Jai Hind!
Vande Mataram!
