As the Kamala Harris takes start to settle down, I want to point something out: if you thought Harris was rude to Biden because she shared her experience on bussing........... you might be a racist. Watch the clip again. She was not rude. No where near disrespectful.
The constantly framing of her âattackingâ him by the media is also based on racism. Editors/reporters you failed if you did this. If she were a White man it would not been an issue. But as a Black woman, different story.
While Iâm at it... if you thought Julian Castroâs clashing moment with Biden was him also being rude and disrespectful... you got it, you might be a racist.
Two People of Color politicians landed verbal punches (that were valid criticisms) on an older White male politician. The label of disrespect would not be applied if reversed or if they were White.
Remember when Warren dismantled Bloomberg. She was tough, but she was not labeled rude or disrespectful... (partisan pundits called her ânasty,â based on sexism) and what about any punches between Sanders and Biden? Never labeled rude or disrespectful.
Maybe it is an age thing? Quite possible. Up and coming young people need to wait in line and know their place. But it is especially applied to People of Color. One has moxie while another is too pushy... âthose peopleâ are ârude,â
If you think me pointing out that your framing of their reaction as disrespectful is being disrespectful to you.... you ready.... you might be a racist. Or at least someone in denial about how race and power frames who can speak up to who, and what topics they can speak on.
