How we can beat Man City [A Thread]
1. The back line needs to be further back.
Maybe I’m wrong with this, but as others have said, De Bruyne and all of the City forwards would absolutely love to play against a back line like this. Although it might work, having it further back would definitely help defensively.

2. Although doing all that would affect our pressing which was phenomenal yesterday, I think we can accept that.
Obviously we still need to put up a press, but it wouldn’t be as successful anyways, playing against a Guardiola side, as well as Ederson who is good with his feet.

3. The centre backs need to change.
Alaba has an alright performance despite the own goal but personally, Boateng should not start this game. Sule or even Hernandez would help way more against the pacy City front line.

4. Pavard could be key.
If Pavard is fit for the game, I think he’ll be crucial. Kimmich was exposed a couple times by Alba overlapping runs and a defensive Pavard would help a lot. Kimmich could also move to midfield, which would also give us a boost.

5. Notice how I haven’t mentioned our attack or midfield?
That’s because I don’t think anything (other then maybe Kimmich) should change. We’ve been incredible going forward and we shouldn’t try to change anything.

6. We can’t be cocky.
We’ve destroyed teams before and still got knocked out in the next round, we really can’t be too overly-confident.

I just wanna say I back Flick 100% and my opinions are in general worse then most people, so feel free to correct me if you disagree with my points.
