and saw over 200 dead matured birds. They died as a result of heat caused by stampede and overcrowding. Apparently, the workers on the farm removed the litters at 1pm when the sun was at its peak. The birds died as a result of the resultant heat. One of many things that

can happen when all hands are not on deck. This happened due to negligence. Don't ask me what I did to the workers. As at then, each bird cost about N2200 or more. So the story is just to say, caring for breeders must be top-notch.

On feeding, I will advice you do your feed yourself. That is, create a superb feed formula and stick to it. Yes, right now maize is on the rise but to get the best out of your breeders you must feed them properly with nutrition in mind. Salmonella kills too so be careful of the

feedmill you go to. Wash and sun dry your sacks and don't mix feed with water.
