Ok so I promised @Richard_Schiff this story about my great uncle saving little people from Austria during Nazi occupation. My great aunt is involved, she was in Ringling Brothers, a Trapeze Artist. I will abbreviate best I can. There names are Robert & Katie.

Robert’s family had a circus in Austria called ‘Rebernigg Circus’
My uncle was the child of a Rebernigg woman and a Jewish mannamed Jacov Staub.

The Grandparent Rebernigg’s adopted my uncle, and his grandmother, Hermine, was considered his mother. This name comes in later.

My uncle befriended a little person named Aloise, who was also from Vienna. He knew of a group of very young little people (some teenagers) and at the time there was @ 20, all from Europe. My uncle trained the (Little People) L.P. To play instruments, trapeze, vaudeville acts

They traveled Europe booking performances with Robert’s mother (grandmother) Hermine and he called the troop ‘Hermine’s Midgets (HM) Understand, back then it was NOT considered derogatory. Sorry, it is necessary to know. Hermine fell ill in Italy and passed in France.

Robert was contacted by the World’s Fair in Flushing Queens and were contracted to perform there. During this time, Hitler was going after imperfect people and Robert decided to buy a huge Brownstone in Flushing on Frame Place in #Flushing right near Main Street. H.M., had to

Pass on ‘the Wizard of Oz’ because the ‘39 World's Fair was under contract when they made OZ (The Singer Midgets are in OZ).
Robert moved everyone into the Brownstone and he flew back to Austria to get his birth father who was Jewish (my mom was born in ‘39 in Berlin).

My uncle dipped his silver coins into chocolate, gathered his dad and came back to the US. During the war, Robert made packages for all the LP’s family’s with food money to survive the war. He (and my aunt) saved my mom by doing this. Berlin was sheer hell.

While my uncle was getting jobs for the LP in TV and MOVIES (will list later), he met Katie (my great aunt) at Ringling Brothers where Jatoe was CENTER RINGGIT (this was VERY IMPORTANT to emphasize with her. They married. She was my Oma’s sister. She moved into the Brownstone.

She performed with a man and wife; He balanced a pile 20 feet into the air, and the two women performed trapeze acts from that pole. She never fell. My aunt brought my mom and aunt to Flushing from Berlin (my Oma wouldn’t leave). My Opa was murdered in front of them (execution)&

my Oma jumped from five stories to not be murdered, but psychologically was never okay. My step-grandmother spoke out against #GOEBBELS, he hospitalized her and she was tortured to death in a hospital for speaking up against the Nazi’s (hero).
In NYC, the LP were on Bway,

Candid Camera, Children’s Shows (Lidsville is one), movies ‘Three Wise Owls and The Court Jester), & many, many commercials. Almost all the LO bought their own homes in College Point, but ALWAYS had a room at Robert & Katie’s. I will post photos. Abbrev. version

Also, my uncle fought in WWII AGAINST the Nazis for the UNITED STATES.

My Tante Katie entered a beauty pageant and won ‘Miss Colgate’ the Italian couple was looking for a girl, same size, weight as his wife. My aunt wanted out of Berlin because she was a trip and said, ‘There is no way I will wear those ugly Hitler Youth Uniforms. She was 15.

Katie, Katie and me, Robert and Katie, My Katie and Katie. She lived to 99, my uncle I think 81.
