Just read an amazing SEO case study by @nateliason on @growthmachine__

"How to grow from 0 to 150,000 monthly visitors in 8 months?"

Here's what I learned

THREAD ... 🧵👇
1. Choose a topic area

The most important step to successfully grow a website to attract 100,000+ monthly visitors is to choose a topic area.

Some criteria to keep in mind:

a. A substantial number of topics to write about

b. Search demand

c. Low difficulty
2. Find your target keywords

A good target keyword has:

- high search volume
- low difficulty

@ahrefs can give you this information easily
3. The wiki strategy

Simple idea: take an umbrella keyword like "green tea" and think of everything that can be a keyword. For example:

"green tea benefits"

"how to brew green tea"

"best green tea"
4. The "also rank for" strategy

Once you get the keywords using "the wiki strategy", use @ahrefs to see what other pages rank for the same keyword.

Scan & find a bunch of new keywords you didn't think of before. Add them to your list and you have more keywords.
5. The competitor mining strategy

Use site explorer in @ahrefs to see all the top domains & their keywords. These are the keywords that you definitely want to target.

Use a good combination of these 3 strategies and find at least 50 keywords before you start creating content.
6. The power of Reddit

Reddit is damn hard! But when it works for you, there's nothing better on the web.

The most imp part about winning on Reddit is to have an article that's worth upvoting & choosing a community that allows links
If you can get visitors from Reddit, you have the chance of getting on Google's radar giving you more authority.
