A thread on who is *statistically* better between Reguilon and Chilwell as a LB.

Like and Retweets are appreciated.
So I will be comparing their defensive and offensive stats in their league.

I will rank them either 1st or 2nd and tally up who came 1st the most.

Their is a total of 10 defensive categories and 11 offensive categories.
For each category I'll rank them and show their stats per 90mins.

Let's start with the defensive categories:

1st Category = Tackles Won

πŸ₯‡ Reguilon = 2
πŸ₯ˆ Chilwell = 1.63

2nd Category = Tackles Won %

πŸ₯‡ Reguilon = 60.6
πŸ₯ˆ Chilwell = 59.72
3rd Category = Interceptions

πŸ₯‡ Reguilon = 1.18
πŸ₯ˆ Chilwell = 1.07

4th Category = Total Blocks

πŸ₯‡ Chilwell = 1.67
πŸ₯ˆ Reguilon = 1.29

5th Category = Aerials Won

πŸ₯‡ Chilwell = 2.12
πŸ₯ˆ Reguilon = 1.4

6th Category = Aerials Won %

πŸ₯‡ Chilwell = 73.8
πŸ₯ˆ Reguilon = 55.3
7th Category = Clearances

πŸ₯‡ Chilwell = 2.05
πŸ₯ˆ Reguilon = 1.51

8th Category = Fouls

πŸ₯‡ Chilwell = 1.1
πŸ₯ˆ Reguilon = 2

9th Category = Dribbled Past

πŸ₯‡ Chilwell = 1.1
πŸ₯ˆ Reguilon = 1.33

10th Category = Successful Pressures

πŸ₯‡ Chilwell = 4.4
πŸ₯ˆ Reguilon = 3.59
Those were the 10 defensive categories.

Reguillon received:
3πŸ₯‡ and 7πŸ₯ˆ

Chilwell received:
7πŸ₯‡ and 3πŸ₯ˆ

So overall Chilwell *statistically* is the better defensive full back.
Now let's look at the offensive categories:

1st Category = Dribbles Completed

πŸ₯‡ Reguilon = 1.47
πŸ₯ˆ Chilwell = 0.87

2nd Category = Dribbles Success %

πŸ₯‡ Reguilon = 58.6
πŸ₯ˆ Chilwell = 50

3rd Category = Fouled

πŸ₯‡ Reguilon = 1.65
πŸ₯ˆ Chilwell = 1.14
4th Category = Key Passes Openplay

πŸ₯‡Reguilon = 1.5
πŸ₯ˆChilwell = 1.17

5th Category = Key Passes Crosses

πŸ₯‡Reguilon = 0.54
πŸ₯ˆChilwell = 0.46

6th Category = Accurate Crosses

πŸ₯‡Reguilon = 1
πŸ₯ˆChilwell = 0.72

7th Category = Cross Completion

πŸ₯‡Reguilon = 28
πŸ₯ˆChilwell = 18.45
8th Category = xA

πŸ₯‡Chilwell = 0.13
πŸ₯‡Reguilon = 0.13

9th Category = Passes Into Final 1/3

πŸ₯‡Chilwell = 3.64
πŸ₯ˆReguilon = 3.05

10th Category = Passes Into Box

πŸ₯‡Reguilon = 1.4
πŸ₯ˆChilwell = 0.87

11th Category = Progressive distance

πŸ₯‡Chilwell = 553
πŸ₯ˆReguilon= 551
These are the 11 offensive categories.

Reguilon received:
9πŸ₯‡ and 2πŸ₯ˆ

Chilwell received:
3πŸ₯‡ and 8πŸ₯ˆ

So overall Reguilon *statistically* is the better offensive full back.
Overall from both categories:

Reguilon received:
12πŸ₯‡ and 9πŸ₯ˆ

Chilwell received:
10πŸ₯‡ and 11πŸ₯ˆ

So overall Reguilon is the better full back.

But its actually pretty close.
From the stats Reguilon is the better tackler, dribbler, and crosser.

But Chilwell is better in the Air, makes more block/clearances, presses better, and doesnt get dribbled past as much.

Also their creativity is very similar.
Chelsea this szn lacked a LB that can win aerials, block crosses, press well, cross, and have pace.

Chilwell has all of the above apart from crossing, but is still creative.

He may not be the best option, but still a massive upgrade and is only 23 so can still develop.
Ofcourse these are only stats and I know the eye test is important.

But sometimes people can be biased with the eye test and using stats can be unbiased.

Overall Reguilon imo is better but Chilwell is a good LB with qualities we need and can still get better.
