AUBA [A THREAD]

So, here's why i think Auba could potentially be a shrewd pick and even a premium 'differential' to start.

He's now reclassified as a Midfielder due to playing at left wing for 19/20. Obviously this means +1 point for a goal, + 1 point per CS going forward
Now, if he'd had these additional points for the 19/20 seaaon, he'd have been the second highest scoring player in the game behind KDB. He's scored 22 goals per season in each full season, winning the golden boot in 18/19 and narrowly missing out in 19/20.
Bear in mind this was achieved mostly under Unai Emery's disastrous reign, which destroyed performances and confidence and left Arsenal in freefall before Arteta steadied the ship in the latter half of 19/20.
To achieve what Auba did in a confident team in full flow would've been impressive enough. And here's the intriguing part:

Now he's reclassified as a Mid, he could actually go back to playing as a centre forward for Arsenal, meaning he's 'misclassified' as Martial was in 19/20.
Arteta has previously spoken about how he knows Auba is the main forward, but explained he was playing Auba on the wing out of necessity for squad balance.

Arsenal had Laca to cover the striker role, but not many wingers. This is one reason they've now taken Willian on a free.
Having Auba on the wing helped squad balance, but also helped develop Saka, who was playing behind him at LB/LWB.

With Willian in the squad, Pepe, Tierney fit meaning Saka can play as winger, Martinelli to return from injury and Nelson emerging, Arsenal have options on the wing
The new options on the wing mean there is less need for Auba to cover that role, which Arteta himself indicated was a temporary necessity. What's more, Laca's rumoured exit from Arsenal would necessitate Auba filling the centre forward role accordingly, with Nketiah as backup.
All in all, this could realistically point to a change of role for Auba in 20/21.

Just as he's changed to a Mid, and all the extra points that go with it, he could find himself as the centre forward again, which should mean more penalty box touches, more SiB more big chances.
So there it is. Auba could be a shrewd pick in #FPL
