After the price reveals yesterday there’s been some interesting discussions about Chelsea’s new star man Timo Werner. I took a look at his stats in the Bundesliga during the last couple of seasons to see what the German potentially has to offer in FPL. Check it out

2016/2017

Apps: 31
Goals: 21
Assists: 5

Goals / 90’: 0.78
Assists / 90’: 0.18

16/17 was the first season Werner got his scoring going with an impressive 21 goals scored. He played most games as a striker, but was also used as a winger.

2017/2018

Apps: 32

Goals / 90’: 0.47
Assists / 90’: 0.25

In 17/18 Werner “only” managed to score 13 goals compared to his 21 the seasons before. Despite the total numbers he stared the season good with 5 + 1 in the first six games.

2018/2019

Goals / 90’: 0.57
Assists / 90’: 0.25

In the 18/19-season Werner improved his numbers a little bit compared to the previous season. He managed to score a brace five times during this season.

2019/2020

Assists / 90’: 0.26

19/20 was the season Werner really got his scoring going. With an impressive 28 goals scored, including three hat tricks and five braces, he had the best season of his career so far.

Werner has been scoring goals during the last four seasons with the numbers from 19/20 being especially impressive. With his pace, he has the possibility to operate both as a striker and a winger, but with his eye for goal you’d expect Lampard to play him up front, right?

So what are we saying, is it too risky bringing Werner in from the start or is he too good to be overlooked?
