okay, let me speak a little about the lunch pack business.

there is one little problem: the price.

at 60NAD per lunch pack, your demand is high and because its so cheap, your profit depends on you selling A LOT OF LUNCH PACKS.
what most of these upcoming lunch pack delivery businesses want to do is set the price so low that they enjoy an overwhelming amount of demand.

selling 100 lunch packs at 60 [6000 per day] is better than selling 50 lunch packs at 80 [4000 per day]. obviously. 🙄
this kind of thinking is obviously highly geared towards maximum returns in the shortest amount of time. BUT in a space as competitive as food, basing your business purely on profit is operational suicide.
you’re probably alone, or you probably have little experience handling large orders, or you have little experience handling orders AT ALL. what happens? you mess up all of them, except for two or four.
you also cannot turn down the orders because if you don’t sell enough 60NAD lunch packs, you won’t make back your money. and you’re afraid people you turn down won’t come back. so you accept all the orders, regardless of whether or not you can deliver them as promised
that way of doing business is unsustainable and relies on your ability to lie to and mislead customers. stop it!

what are the alternatives?
i know, entering a highly competitive market such as food, lunch packs, bla bla bla is hard.

lowering your price is not the only thing that can help you penetrate, or help you get a fair share of the market.

there are many other options that don’t involve lying to customers.
the trick is, most of the others involve you actually putting in the work.

we have to start realising that doing business is not for the lazy. you’ve got to put in the work.

most of y’all are lazy and want to cut corners. damnit, take some time to build a brand.
you are so scared of people asking, “okay but who is she? is her food nice?” that you would rather have people just talk about, “omg, she’s so cheap, i want”.

like i said, it’s smart, but it’s unsustainable and requires you to lie.
what can you do differently?

1. start small, but don’t be below market price. unmitigated ambition can kill your business faster than procrastination ever will....sometimes.
2. invest in your branding. grow a brand. price is relative — with the right brand, people wouldn’t mind spending 120 on a lunch pack. 🙂
ideas? show us the behind the scenes of making the packs. get a social media manager. do giveaways. bla bla bla.
it takes time. build sustainable businesses. that’s the key.
