Questions to ask a potential future employer, during an interview.

A thread.

If this question hasn’t already been answered, it is a GREAT way for you to find out if they promoted someone, needed an additional resource, someone was let go, etc.
What are some of the professional development and training opportunities?

This will tell you if there is room for growth, whether promoting upward, lateral moves and if they provide training for employees. Also, a good way to find out if they pay for degrees, school, etc.
Where do you see room for improvement on the current team?

This will help you sell yourself because those missing pieces, could be areas in which you are strong. Tell them what you can bring and how you can improve team performance.
What type of person are you looking for, to fill this role? (soft skills).

Remember, in a corporate setting, your technical skills will only get you but so far. Those soft skills (the politics unfortunately), are what result in promotions.

This is an especially good question to ask someone, that has been with the company for a while or holds a position in Leadership.
What is your management style?

If you are interviewing with your potential future boss, this is one of the MOST important questions to ask. Remember, people quit bosses, not jobs.
What are some of the expectations of this role within the first 30, 60 and 90 days?

Most companies will put you on a 90 day probationary period, so it’s vital to know what your Manager wants from you during that time. This will allow you to give a peak performance.
What do you enjoy most about your team and the company?

This will give you insight on how that employee feels about the company and if there are any red flags. It might also make you even more interested in the company.

A good Recruiter will provide you with this information but many suck. This tells you about PTO, holidays, 401k, telework, insurance, tuition assistance and other incentives.
How would you describe the company culture?

PLEASE, always ask this question because you do not want to set yourself up. Some places are laid back, others are formal, just ask this one.
