A brief look into claims such as

"Khabib is too big"
"Khabib is too heavy"
"Khabib is a weight bully"
"Khabib should move up to WW"

Let's break down his size compared to other fighters and see if any of these claims are true...
2/
His frame compared to other LWs.

Height: advantage over 4/15 fighters. Mainly at a disadvantage or similar

Reach: no advantage over anyone. Big disadvantage

Leg reach: advantage over 3/15 fighters. Mainly at a disadvantage

Now his frame compared to other WWs.

Height: advantage over 2/15 fighters. Big Disadvantage

Reach: no advantage over anyone. Big disadvantage

Leg reach: advantage over 6/15 fighters. Mainly at a disadvantage

There's a few different terms when discussing a fighter's weight.

Fighters usually diet during training camp after which they start the "cutting" process where they dehydrate themselves to cut out water weight and then rehydrate after official weigh ins.
5/
It is important to establish that just because a fighter misses weight doesn't necessarily mean they're "too big". There are many factors such as injuries off-putting their weight management in camp or not having proper nutrionists, age etc
6/
In order for your weight to be an "advantage" in a fight we must ONLY look at cage weight thus all others are irrelevant. You cannot summon your walkaround weight in the middle of a fight. Unfortunately cage weight isn't always available.
7/
Therefore we have to take them at their word. It is a lot more reliable than fans claiming he looks big. Eyes are not a reliable source of weight measure due to bone/muscle density. Could the fighters/teams be lying about their weights at times? Sure but we gotta work with it

Khabibs latest fight (UFC242) vs Dustin Poirier.

Khabib weighed 172lbs that night.

The latest info on Dustins cage weight is when Dustin fought Max.

Dustin weighed 176lbs.

Khabibs fight before that was against Conor. George Lockhart deals with Conors weight cut and overall nutrition. Here's george on JRE talking about conors cage weight against Khabib (UFC229).

Conor weighed 171lbs on fight night.

Khabib is not a WW (body frame/weight). He has dismissed increasing weight. This is respectable when a fighter knows where they belong and defend their title rather than pursue more belts/fame. WW champ Usman is not interested in fighting khabib either.
13/
As for Lightweight. Khabib pretty much falls in the middle... no surprise there as he never stood out to be a giant fighting midgets. In other words... all those claims calling him too big fail to stand up against any scrutiny.
