FKBU LATE NIGHT THOUGHTS pt. 2

tw// death, hostage taking incidents (? sorry idk what to put ;-;)

so i had a theory about daisuke knowing haru way before haru knew him (although i think what i got completely wrong was daisuke's deep connection to haru's traumatic incident)
in tonight's ted talk i would like discuss the events of ep 3 (let's call it the train incident just bc) that support my theory hehehhe also a bit on daisuke's and haru's characterization??

this is a long thread im sorry

(i also kinda just did this to ignore my math classes)
i would like to start by saying that the way the train incident was staged is a little bit similar to haru's traumatic incident from the past (bank incident) mainly because of two reasons - 1) the presence of hostages/ deep involvement of unarmed individuals in the incidents and+
2) the plan to settle it, which is by putting down the hostage taker (although in the train one it wasnt successful)
the reason i mentioned this is because it's possible that the train incident also served as an unintended? accidental? way for haru to come to terms with his trauma. it's possible that daisuke knew all the details about haru's bank incident, and seeing how the train incident is +
turning out to be, he realized that it will benefit haru more if he lets haru lead this operation compared to if he does everything again by himself. after all, if he does everything by himself again, it's possible that haru's trauma just makes it harder and harder for haru +
to work in the future, which is not good. so by letting him lead this operation, at least he's a little bit closer to finally coming to terms with his trauma

my basis for saying that daisuke already had the intention to make haru lead the operation are these two scenes:
i think it's possible that daisuke said the line in the first picture to make haru (and even the audience) think that this can only be tied back to when grandma kanbe told daisuke to listen to haru when in fact it's actually deeper than that
i also think the reason why he told heusc to play it is so that haru can assess the situation for himself, which also lead to haru saying this. i think at this point there already is the conflict between his feelings and the way the incident is being treated so far. +
like seriously? a swat team just for a young man? and to think that said man, for haru, is not the type to kill people. it's also possible that at this point, his feelings from the bank incident are already starting to resurface, since this kind of situation also +
happened back then, where there was an order to shoot someone who turns out to also be a man capable of love (i say this because of the woman who tried to shoot haru)

daisuke silently watching here probably shows how he's letting haru deal with his own thoughts, which is good
which leads me to this line, which i think is the result of his own statement a while ago about the person being not the type to kill. here we can see him proposing another solution, which i think, also shows haru's own thoughts about the bank incident from before.
it's possible that there was a part of him that was thinking "if i also only tried to negotiate my way with the person from before, none of all that mess would've happened".

WHICH THEN LEADS ME TO DAISUKE'S LINE

him asking haru what he wants to do is i think daisuke's way of +
trying to help haru come to terms with his feelings from the bank incident. like a way of saying "yes, we can't change what happened before, but we can change what's about to happen now". and it's a good thing that haru clearly gave his answer here.
however, it's obviously not that easy. when takei gave him permission to shoot, like what happened from before, of course the fear that he'll hurt someone else again resurfaced. the quick flashback and his sudden change in aura? mood? makes it obvious that even if it+
seemed like he was confident when daisuke asked him, the trauma is still there. and that's understandable.

WHICH LEADS ME TO THIS SCENE, THIS WONDERFUL SCENE, THIS POWERFUL SCENE

like what i said, even if haru really was confident and was really willing to change the outcome +
of this incident and make sure that what happened before doesn't happen again, of course, getting over something like that is definitely not easy. so when he hesitates again, i just want to point out how fucking powerful this scene is.

DAISUKE STEPPING IN IS FUCKING MARVELOUS
not because it's finally his time to shine or some shit, but because him stepping in can serve as a reminder for haru that he doesn't have to deal with his feelings on his own. that there's another person here who kind of understands what's happening, and, even if it +
doesn't seem like it, is willing to help. it's like saying "YOU CAN HESITATE ALL YOU WANT FOR NOW, LET ME TAKE OVER, IT'S ALRIGHT, WHAT MATTERS IS YOU VOICED OUT YOUR FEELINGS LOUD AND CLEAR. AND THAT I HEARD THEM." and im having a breakdown BECAUSE THATS FUCKING BEAUTIFUL
SO OTHER THAN ARGUING WHO TOPS OR SOME SHIT, JUST DISCUSS HOW FUCKING BEAUTIFUL THEIR RELATIONSHIP AS WORK PARTNERS IS
alright before i go to the end

i would just like to point out that since it's possible that haru was also thinking that after that incident takei was completely disappointed in him, getting a "good work" +
from said superior, and a possible mentor figure for haru could help him realize that he really should stop beating himself up, and that he shouldnt worry about takei's view of him because now he knows that he was able to prove himself to takei, and that what he did was right.
to end, remember how many times hoshino kept on saying that he doesnt have the right to be a cop anymore or that what he's saying about the hostage take is wrong?
daisuke using haru's words on him at the end, for me, serves as proper closure to all this bs hoshino said (sorry hoshino bby)

it's like saying

"FUCK THEM WHO KEPT ON DISAGREEING WITH YOU, TELLING YOU YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE A COP ANYMORE. DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP."
AND I THINK THAT'S FUCKING BEAUTIFUL

and although it's possible that haru still havent dealt with his emotions and the trauma frm before fully, at least now he's one step closer to that

anyways that is all thank you for attending my ted talk
