The right wants to talk about how "higher education is brainwashing for liberal policies" but the real educational brainwashing that goes on in America's schools is convincing kids that there's anything special or impressive about their country.
What you end up with is an entire generation of indoctrinated people who believe they are special and impressive by sheer virtue of existing in the period greatest period country period ever.

They're not and it isn't.
American History studies in the K-12 system amounts to little more than justification for why genocide and human rights atrocities were actually noble and necessary actions of a benevolent and superior civilization.
