As there's an attempted colour "revolution" under way in Belarus here's my prediction of things to look out for.

*Telegenic women with perfect English giving tearful interviews to the western press
* Tight angle shots of demonstrations designed to make them look bigger 1/5
*A host of stories about Lukashenko "THE MONSTER OF MINSK" running in the tabloids
* Every soft left and Trotskyite contorting themselves as they try to support the CIA sponsored "revolt"
* Hysterical stories about "regime atrocities" that are never substantiated.
* Sonorous "debates" in parliament and congress about the "horrors" inside Belarus that are long on emoting and short on evidence
* The whole thing feeding into another round of Russia-gate
* The parading around of fascists as "freedom fighters"
* A lot of screaming about the need for "economic reform" that, when examined, amount to the same EU/IMF mass privatisation drives
* Screaming by the likes of AOC and others in support of regime change
* Jacobin accusing everyone who opposes this of "Lukashenkoism"
* The total ignoring of all far right, anti semitic and other reactionary elements in the protests.
* Blanket coverage on the capitalist media that somehow manages to tell you nothing about what actual Belarusians think.

And epic twitter meltdowns from Paul Mason of course.
So against all the screams and propaganda it's important for anti-imperialists to hold firm and not give a fucking inch. This is about removing Lukashenko for his virtues not his vices. The US despises the fact that Belarus exists outside of their influence. That's the reason.
And all we need do is point to the ruins of Ukraine, the chaos of Libya and the mass slaughter in Syria to show people who are not as clued up on this just what the US and it's friends have in mind for Belarus. They want to loot it, asset strip it and leave it a ruin.
