Math problem for @MattWolfAB - since the re-opening plan was clearly a foregone conclusion for the gov't, what's the difference between the necessary masks-per-minute rate for starting yesterday versus starting a month ago? Or two months ago?

In March, this excuse would be valid - but we were told back then that this pandemic would go for a year or more, and this gov't clearly isn't listening to the evidence about re-opening schools, so it can be assumed that this was the plan all along. The delay forced the rush.
Matt says there's about 18 days for production, bc the remaining time will need to go to shipping. As a result, we need 65 masks per minute. If this plan had been started a week earlier, it'd be 47. If we'd started a month ago, it'd be 25. Two months ago? 15 masks per minute.
We're on month 6 of COVID. In-person school's been closed since March. If any version of a school plan relied on this many masks, they should've been accumulating them earlier, especially if it was the first choice.

Your inability to plan ahead is not an excuse for cronyism.
