For 13 years I worked for a parachurch organisation. During that time I wrote a Christian blog with significant readership. I quit that writing about 6 years ago and took the content offline.
Positively, writing publicly helped me to think myself clearer and interacting with others was strengthening. By God's grace this writing even helped some.
But, for me, writing was an aspect of an itinerant ministry. Moving into local church ministry I needed to focus on the people I was with.
And, for me, I needed to put more time into physical training - I started running. That ate the writing time.
And, I was conscious that my influence easily outstripped my character and understanding. I often consider quitting twitter for the same reasons.
