A quick thread on the protests in Jordan today:
1. In Irbid, Jordan’s second largest city, many went out to protest despite the governor threatening to shut it down using to coronavirus public gatherings legislation.

They chant:

“Our demands are constitutional! Freedom! Freedom!”

3. Mafreq, a town in the North close to the Syrian border, also saw its people go to the streets
4. Amman.

A group has taken to the narrow streets saying “God is greater than the oppressor!”

I’m told they want to meet at the Husseini Mosque, also notably site of the 2011 Arab Spring Protests in Jordan.
