Here's why everyone who is complaining about the Rooster Teeth Wonder Woman 1984 variant cover is 100% wrong, on top of all their misogynist vitriol: You're all navel-gazing at the same comics from the past 30 years in your superhero bubble. Short thread. 1/5
Comics is bigger than the direct market. Cartoons, art, and illustration is bigger than the direct market. While you're not looking further than what's in your LCS; there is an abundance of contemporary artists and illustrators working in fields beyond superhero comics. 2/5
Robin Eisenberg's work is exactly what is current and relevant right now. It's modern, fresh, and taps into a market that is probably more diverse than your average comics audience. You want fresh blood in comics? New readers? New voices? 3/5
This is how you bring that audience in. With exciting new voices, art that's current, and that speaks to an audience that is much bigger than the direct market. Not everything is aimed at you; and if you love comics let it grow and evolve. 4/5
PS: If your best rationale for not liking it is being a selfish misogynist idiot, you lost the argument long ago. 5/5
