This fall, my students will read the corresp. of the priests who orchestrated Dr. Turner's ouster, de-radicalized the FCC, & attempted to suppress #BlackCatholic protest in the church. Note: Dr. Turner's and the FCC's strongest supporters were #BlackCatholicwomen. #NoBigSurprise
3. Scholarship on the #CatholicChurch & the Black freedom movement remains minimal. This is esp. true of work that takes the longstanding activism & leadership of #BlackCatholics seriously. One notable exception is Karen Johnson's excellent, #OneinChrist https://global.oup.com/academic/product/one-in-christ-9780190618971?cc=us&lang=en&
Much of Johnson's scholarship has been cited in various venues in recent days and weeks, but not properly attributed to her. So, remember that @womnknowhistory! #AlwaysCiteWomen
