My name gets a mention in this article, why exactly, I don’t know. Let’s face it, very inexperienced, no titles, unqualified, simply, never really a contender 🤔 The question I want to ask is, why do the names of these guys not feature?
And a bit more of a case for them as genuine contenders is not presented? @VincentBarnes60 @EnochNkwe @geoffreytoyana @PaulAdams39 #ShukriConrad #MaliMaketa All vastly experienced, very good coaches diligently plugging away in the system year in year out.
All level 4 qualified, all have won trophies, all vastly experienced, all as far as I know “strong characters”. Oh, I forgot, they didn’t play international cricket. Mickey Arthur,John Buchanan, Trevor Bayliss, Ferguson, Wenger, Klopp did they play at the highest level? No!!!
So what makes a good coach/manager then? Well I have have my thoughts, but it’s not my thoughts that matter. I like, and respect what FIFA, football does. It doesn’t matter how many 1st class or international matches, Zidane, Pep or Gigs played, they’ve got to get qualified.
And yes, all of us that played at the highest level think we know what it takes, but we don’t really know. Why? Because it’s a different job altogether and requires a completely different skill set. But off course CSA knew this, actually 🤔🤔🤔
All the names I mentioned above posses that skill set, and therefore deserved a better case to be made for themselves. I have to say I’m quite surprised that I’ve not come across 1 article as such from certain sectors of media. But then again, maybe I’m not that surprised.🤔
Mikey Holding said it, not me. “If society is going to change, there’s a kind of brainwashing from certain sectors that’s gonna have to change.” Just some Sunday afternoon reflections. 🤔🤔🤔
