👑 Hwasa

a thread for fans and for antis
This thread is not supposed to invalidate anyone's feelings or victimize anyone. I believe there's a lot of misinformation out there about Hwasa, so in this thread I'll be stating the FACTS chronologically so you can come to your own opinion.

Good or bad.
Mamamoo was initially built around Hwasa and Wheein's friendship and charisma.

Before their debut in 2014, people made a petition to kick Hwasa out of the group because she didn't fit the idol beauty standard.
Even before her debut she was heavily criticized for her looks and her supposedly being on the "heavier side". People said she didn't deserve to be confident if she looked like that.

Beyoncé helped Hwasa gain confidence and self-love from an early age.
Hwasa stayed true to herself despite the hate. She worked harder as an artist, featuring on songs and often writing her own lyrics about herself for them.

Here she goes against people f*tshaming her and instead just tells herself to be herself
Hwasa gained fans because of her authenticity and charisma.

She loves her fans. She wears her heart on her sleeve and she can honestly light up a whole room with her charisma and just her clear love for people.
She sang the n-word on a radio show.

She was given the lyrics of Beyoncé's Irreplaceable on the spot. Melon's lyrics has the n-word in it. She doesn't know English, and thus she sang the word without knowing the heavy meaning behind it.
Again, this thread is not supposed to excuse any ignorant actions, it's merely meant to introduce the correct context and get rid of any misinformation out there.

Anyone invalidating people's feelings is adding to the growing issue of the hate Hwasa and Mamamoo receives.
Black/brown face

In 2017, Mamamoo did a Bruno Mars skit in which they painted their faces to portray Bruno and his backup singers/dancers.

Fans immediately contacted the company, and RBW and Mamamoo apologized to the black community for their ignorant actions multiple times.
This is where the major hate from stan twitter started.

The hate abt Hwasa's looks got worse. People made colorist jokes about her for having a slightly darker skin tone, and misinformation was spread about a fan writing white/light & black/dark unnie on a picture years earlier
TW/ de*th threats

Mamamoo got in a car accident and sustained minor injuries.

People on twitter made jokes about how they should have died in the accident.

This was shortly after Hwasa's uncle passed away in a car accident.
Hwasa still stayed true to herself despite the hate she got.

She's really openhearted and grounded. She constantly shows people her emotions and good intentions, and continues to work harder and harder on her music to portray her feelings to fans.
At their concert she spoke about the hardships she went through from the industry. It's quite groundbreaking to speak up against it.

She continues to inspire people and spread self love.

"If I don't fit the standard, I'll make my own"
Despite her constantly spreading love and positivity, the hate from stan twitter doesn't stop.

She's constantly the butt of stan twt's jokes. Many people hate on her for clout, not because they actually seem to care about CA.
Ant*s hacked Mamamoo's Youtube account and changed their MV titles and descriptions into hateful, triggering things.
Eventhough the haters increase in numbers, she also gains more and more popularity, especially in SK.

People love her charisma, and everything she touches sells out. She still gets hate in SK too, but her influence is massive.
She wore a durag.

During MBC's program Queendom, Hwasa wore a durag from Rihanna's collection. Rihanna advertised it with models from different ethnicities/skin tones, hence probably one of the reasons Hwasa didn't know it could be offensive.
By now there's constant false rumors being spread about her. People make up that she has repeated her mistakes, that she self-tans to appear darker, that she's a misogynist, that she's homophobic, and so on.
She recently wore an outfit that people mistook for a Nigerian kaftan/buba. Ant*s spread that she wore it to scare people, which is false.

The outfit was a luxurious sauna look, made of Korean nida fabric. It was inspired by the fashion industry.
It seems everything Hwasa does now is taken out of context to feed a hateful agenda, while many people don't actually know the truth and just believe the constant lies instead.

All fans ask is to stop the misinformation and the d*ath threats.
In her recent album María, Hwasa wrote and produced songs to portray her feelings to fans.

She shows every side of herself, the good and the bad, to really make her intentions in life clear.
In a recent interview she said she hoped if she remained true to herself and her good intentions, that would eventually translate itself to people.

Hwasa isn't the villain you make her out to be.
To end this thread:

I know this probably won't reach that many people and the hate on Hwasa will likely continue because people have taken it up as a hobby.

If I even swayed one person to see Hwasa in a more positive light I know I've done my job here.
Please, if you want to help prevent CA from happening, do so.

Educate yourself on the cutures involved; educate others. Learn about the use of CA in Korea and other east Asian countries, and their lack of historical context.

Educate those who don't have bad intentions.
And finally,

Don't be afraid to stan this talented young woman.

Hwasa truly has a heart of gold.

#HwasaWeLoveYou
I do not intend to invalidate anyone's feelings with this thread. If you don't forgive her, that's valid. I just want to clear up lies and show how bad the hate is.
