As a beginner to drive twitter growth we think that hashtag will bring significant visibility. The answer to is Yes & No.
Hashtag definitely has its place. I'm debating myself to recommend the beginner to use the hashtag or not.

But if you start using 4 or 5 hashtag, it is a clear No. Don't do this. If you are tweeting 1 or two line post, don't use it. Don't use irrelevant ones either.
The main disadvantage of using more hashtag is how much negatively it will impact your follower conversion rate.
It may sometime get exposure to your tweets. Then what?
You want them to click on your profile and browse through your post.

Go and scroll your profile, how all your hashtag feels. Spammy isn't it??
User who visit your profile spend few seconds there, scroll for few second and make their mind to follow you or not.

In my opinion, hashtag at each post gives a impression that you are marketer or worse spammer.
Recently I'm trying to use less a hashtag or most of the time I'm not using any anymore but I'm not seeing any difference in getting into attraction or not.

Definitely lots of bot will RT and like it. It will give a false illusion.

So if you're just starting out and you're posting like 4 or 5 post maybe you should try to use hashtag in one or two post.
Always see your own profile and decide how it looks.
