Ben White.

A THREAD:
Ben White has been trending on Twitter for the past few days, as Leeds fans have absolutely stormed it.

On the reality, Leeds chucked two bids as us, £18.5M & £22M (supposedly), both rejected. Rightfully so.
The other part of this story, was that Ben has rejected two contracts from us. I don’t know how true this is yet, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Just because he rejected a contract, doesn’t mean ‘it’s clear to see he wants out’ because it doesn’t.
Him & his agent will have rejected the contracts due to the financial terms not being acceptable. With Leeds, Chelsea & Liverpool all interested, from an agents point of view, it’d be stupid to accept the first offers.
Ben White has a price tag of £35M+. This means that if Leeds or any club wants to buy him, they’ll have to pay that price or more. The likes of Chelsea & Liverpool are unlikely to do this. Why? Because he’s not PL proven.
There’s no way they’re splashing nearly the same money as City paid for Aké who had played in the PL for years, on someone who’s never had a minute of PL action.
Leeds could go to that figure, but realistically they’d be silly to, as they wouldn’t want to blow their transfer budget on a player who was already at the club in that promotion season. They’d be left with nothing more to strengthen the rest of the team.
These are the facts, based on the rumours. I personally can’t see us selling him this summer. We’ve never been a ‘selling club’. Remember when we had outrageous bids for Knockaert, Stephens and Dunk? We’ve been here before, and we know how to keep our best players.
If the club really believe White is our future, they’d wait till the future to sell him, as they’ll know we can double our money then.
